Francis Lawes, born in Carleton Forehoe, worked as a weaver in Norwich, and emigrated with his wife Lydia, daughter Mary and two servants, Anne Smith and Samuel Lincoln (from Hingham) on 8 April, 1637. They sailed in the John and Dorothy of Ipswich and reached Boston on 20 June.
