Birthplace of New World travellers to America, including Rev. Peter Hobart, Rev. Robert Peck, Samuel Lincoln and Edward Gilman Sr. The village sign depicts the parishioners about to set sail for the New World.
Memorials to the Gilman family are still visible in St Andrew’s Church in Hingham, which also has a bronze bust of Abraham Lincoln on the wall – a gift from members of the Lincoln family in the US, unveiled by the American Ambassador in 1919.
