Rackheath Hall was the home of Sir John Pettus, who became member of the London Company which held the third Charter for the colony of Virginia. All Saints Church in Rackheath features memorials to the Pettus family.
During the Second World War, the Hall was used as the headquarters of the US 467th Bomb Group.
